An exquisite dream in green and gold, this 19th-century high-karat gold and green garnet festoon necklace is truly breathtaking. A central medallion of elaborately worked 22k gold displays a cluster of delicate flowers. The green garnet sits at its heart, sparkling amidst the blossoms. A single gold flower dangles from the medallion's base. A chain composed of cannetille and floral links forms graceful swags that drape over the collarbone. This piece dates to very early in Queen Victoria's reign and is a Faerie jewel for certain. Circa 1840.
